Ribbon & Print Heads
The printing technology for the thermal transfer printing is divided into two different print head technologies: Flathead and Near-Edge print heads
The first near-edge print head was developed in 1994 to meet the increased demands on the printing speed. Although today's technology with Flathead printheads allow fast print speeds up to 300mm/sec, but both technologies have been kept consistently by the printer manufacturers in most cases.
